Learning objectives for B1
The B1 Norwegian course is for those who want to be more independent when communicating in the Norwegian language.
The language skills you have already acquired will be improved and enhanced. You will get:
- Improved writing skills
- Knowledge about Norwegian culture and society
- Ability to describe and handle both familiar and unpredictable situations
- Ability to describe future plans and desires
- Ability to express moods, feelings, and opinions
- Ability to make suggestions, proposals and discussing them
Course duration
The expected duration is 3,5 months. However, each member will follow his or her own individual learning plan.
Accredited language course provider
Lingu is accredited by Kompetanse Norge. You will get a course certificate, which is valid for permanent residence and citizenship applications in Norway. You can be accredited for a maximum of 12 hours per week* for all learning activities combined.

The classes
As a member of Lingu’s Norwegian course, you can study whenever it suits you. You have access to all classes at this level and you can attend as many as you want!
The classroom lessons are held at our language centers in Oslo and Stavanger, and the online lessons are available from any smartphone, tablet or laptop.

Payment
This course is a subscription course, which means you will set up a monthly or quarterly payment agreement, and your card will automatically be charged for your access until you unsubscribe. You can easily cancel your subscription any time from your member page.
When you have completed level, you can upgrade to the next level with a simple click!
Course materials
Online course: No course materials or books are strictly required in order to attend our courses.
For the in-house classes course, participants need to bring the following books to the classes. You can order the books online, or you can buy them when you arrive at our language center.
- Stein på stein, tekstbok og arbeidsbok (2014 edition)
Recorded lessons
Recorded lessons will be available in the recordings archive so you can easily browse and find the information you need, whether that is pronunciation training, grammar, or any other topic.
Lingus online course
Our online course is a comprehensive self-study platform that covers all aspects of the Norwegian language.
After 8 weeks, you will get access to a level test for B1. If you complete the test with a sufficient score, you can upgrade to the next level.

Ofte stilte spørsmål
During levels A1 and A2 levels you will be learning from the Norsk på 123,( 2017 edition).
During level B1 level you will be learning from the Stein på stein, textbook and exercise book (2014 edition)
During B2 level you will not need any books.
During C1 level you will be learning from Håndbok i gramatikk og språkbruk norsk for innvandrere
For all our Norwegian courses we also recommend Exploring Norwegian Grammar as a useful reference grammar in English.

- A hybrid course with a structured approach.
- Regular lessons times and a course program with a one dedicated teacher
