This course is for anyone who has trained or worked as a health professional or healthcare worker and wishes to qualify to work in the health sector in Norway. It covers a broad set of health care topics.
It will also prepare you for the official Norskprøven exam, B1/B2 level
The course is for you, if:
- you are a health professional or healthcare worker and wish to work in the health sector in Norway
- you need to pass the written Norwegian language exam at the B1 or B2 level.
- you need to learn Norwegian to be able to communicate well with your patients and colleagues.
- you want to improve your Norwegian writing skills regarding healthcare topics
- you need a flexible course with quick feedback.

Is this course applicable for permanent residency?
Yes, the hours spent on this course are applicable for the PR requirements. The maximum approval amount per week is 12 hours. Simply make sure to follow the course curriculum and attend all the lessons regularly.
If you complete the course with the required attendance, you will receive a course certificate which you can later on use for your UDI applications.
Admission Requirements
- You must have passed the A2 level proficiency test in Norwegian or completed a Norwegian course at the A2 level previously.
- You must commit to a weekly attendance requirement throughout the entire course period.
- You must explain why you want to improve your Healthcare Norwegian and in what contexts you will use it.
- You must have good digital skills to make the most out of the course.
Is the course completely free?
The best part is that the course is completely free for you as a participant. This is possible thanks to support from the Norwegian Directorate of Integration and Diversity (IMDi), who will pay for your course for you.

Norwegian immigration authorities provide scholarships to assist healthcare professionals succeed in Norwegian working life. The scholarships are from «Klippekortordningen» by Imdi.
The course is for those who want to qualify for work in the health sector and need to pass the language requirement of the employer, or fulfill the language requirements from the authorization by the Norwegian Directorate of Health.
Do you qualify for the grant scheme?
- You are an adult immigrant to Norway.
- You have no rights to free Norwegian education at the municipality where you live.
- You are not a participant in another type of Norwegian education with state funding (e.g. Competence plus).
- You have previously completed A2 level and wish to achieve B1 or B2 level.
- You have the opportunity to complete the course program and participate in at least 80 hours of teacher-led teaching online.

You will be able to join flexibly scheduled online live, instructor-led classes in both mornings and evenings.
We arrange monthly webinars and job cafés for the participants across all courses in Health-related language, where we invite guests from the health sector to talk about various topics from the healthcare industry. In addition to the language training, you'll also get to know the Norwegian health sector and the job market.

What is Selena's Anatomy?
In the materials you’ll meet the nurse Selena from Spain who is newly employed at a hospital, through films and reading texts taken from authentic workplaces and fictional journals. She must communicate with several people from other occupations and gains insight into several work areas and functions both inside and outside the hospital.
The learning resource is developed in collaboration with professionals from the health sector.

This course exam is not the equivalent of an official government exam, so if the official government exam is required by the employer,An official test must be taken separately.
Lingu does not offer any official lanuage exams.
The Simply Helse exam is an interal exam provided by Lingu. It evaluates what you have learned during the course.
Upon completion of the course, you will receive a certificate which shows the language level achieved and your exam level. This exam certificate may be extremely helpful in finding a job since it shows you have completed this medical language oriented course and your language level achieved.

Yes, it is now available completely for free! This means that you pay completely nothing as a participant. This is made possible thanks to support from the Norwegian Directorate of Integration and Diversity (IMDi), who will pay the course fee of NOK 10000 for you. All you need to do is register, and the rest will be taken care of by Lingu.
