Norwegian Placement Test (A1)

This test measures whether you have level A1 in Norwegian. To achieve A1, 80% or more must be answered correctly.
You can start the test only once. Make sure you have at least 30 minutes available to complete the test.
The test covers listening, reading and grammar.
The result of the test will be sent to you by email after the test is completed.

Under 80%: Under A1
80% or more: A1

About level A1
You can understand and use familiar, everyday words and expressions. You can participate in a simple conversation if the person you are speaking to speaks slowly and clearly and helps you.

The terms A1, A2, B1, B2, C1 and C2 refer to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). A1 is the lowest level, while C2 is the highest level.

Choose a course at the appropriate level
If you register for a language course, choose a level that is above the level of your results. If the test states that you are at a A1 level, choose a course at the A2 level.
