That it was one on one and gave the option to work on a specific topic

My aim with the course was to strengthen my grammar skills as I wished to take the Bergens test. I had several specific questions to grammar rules and why the sentence is structured the way it was. Often, the teacher answered this by simply reading a standard sentence from a grammar book. In addition, when doing example tests the teacher herself had to check multiple times the list with accepted answers. I would expect a Norwegian teacher to know whether a sentence is correct or not, it definitively does not leave a good impression and I would generally have expected a higher level /stronger skills of the teacher. In addition, in my opinion it was clear from the example tests where my weakness lies. I would expect that a teacher would react to this and actually then focus on this but this was also not the case. Although I got some useful study material, I am overall disappointed about the level of the course.

Use of computer. The laptop was a distraction as the instructor spent a lot of time typing.

The private courses hourly rates are very expensive and I don’t feel the overall quality of the course was up for the asked price.

Friendly instructors doing their best to help and spending their time off the course to answer the questions, course flexibility.

Norway is a country of many dialects, which makes it very difficult to understand spoken Norwegian. Why are there no prepared programs to help people who are struggling for months with picking up even the most simple and always the same questions from shop cashier?

• private online course with 2 participants - my Norwegian skills before the course were on A2 level. - my main issue is difficulty in understanding spoken language (observed when learning two other languages). Being able to understand spoken Norwegian is very important to me - with the first instructor (Anette) we had clearly defined course structure which didn't really satisfy any of the participants. - second instructor (Camilla) listened to us, dropped all the structure and changed the course to actually address our goals, which made us way happier. - looks like there were no existing programs to help me with my goal of improving listening skills, so we ended up with the best alternative we could come up with. - while with Camille's help my listening skills definitely improved, my initial hope defined 8 month ago (understand simple but real-world speach) has not been fully reached. - it may be that my goal was inadequate and unrealistic from the beginning, but I think there might be some room for improvement from Lingu part anyway.
