What did you like most about this course?
The Samanehs reise course. I think it's well-designed and it was convenient, entertaining and informative to go through it. The beginning with Siri Anette was quite nice. I also liked the online format.
What didn't you like about this course?
The lessons were not really effective, especially during the second part of the course. Instead of practicing on what we've learned during self-studying we spent time on going through the same material from scratch. During the second part of the course the teacher talking time was very long, there was almost no opportunity to practice speaking. The teacher was extremely rarely present in breakout rooms and almost didn't engage with the students even when they made mistakes or didn't know what to do. We skipped one of the most complex topics (preteritum) because of long off-topic monologues and running through almost the same material several times (students told the teacher that it's the same presentation and the same topic). The group was too big (22-24 people) and the language level was very inconsistent which caused troubles in breakout rooms. The first part of assignments was only evaluated after request and the second part of assignments remains not evaluated after the end of the course.
How was this course useful for you?
Samanehs reise explanations sorted out some questions I had during my previous studying. It also gave me more structure.

What did you like most about this course?
Overall, I liked everything about the course but I especially enjoyed the in-class and breakout room interactions with Marius and the other students. It was very helpful to have the ability to practice speaking and to work on listening comprehension. Marius was an excellent instructor! Not only did he do a great job explaining things and answering questions, he was also very patient and helpful. His explanations about differences in how Norwegians use certain vocabulary and grammar were interesting (e.g. written vs. spoken, different dialects, etc.) and I enjoyed his anecdotes about Norway and Norwegians (my favorite was the one about Norwegians and their affinity for brunost). I'm sad that he won't be teaching FastTrack A2 in January.
What didn't you like about this course?
There wasn't anything that I disliked about the course.
How was this course useful for you?
It was helpful in so many ways. The most important for me was the ability to practice speaking and listening. I don't live in Norway so I don't have any exposure to the language on an everyday basis. The class and the breakout rooms were a great way to practice my speaking and pronunciation. The overall format and content of the course were very useful. They provided a basis for repetition to help in learning the material. I could read the chapter(s) for Samaneh's Reise before class to get an idea of what would be covered, and then in class we would go over the material again. The drop-in classes also provided a way to review and practice what I'd learned.
