Private lessons are the right choice for you if you want to study one with a teacher and focus directly on your own personal needs and challenges.
Your teacher will create a customised course just for you. This means you will reach your goals more quickly than if you join a group course or study on your own.
You can choose between the Small Package for a regular course, and the Small Package PLUS if you want your course time to count for immigration purposes (e.g., to apply for permanent residency).
Schedule
You will create the course schedule together with your teacher. Depending on the course package you select, your lessons can take place exclusively during the day, or can vary between daytime and evening.
- comes with access to online self-study materials, which are a great learning tool for daily practice
- can include two participants (for the price of one)
Start taking private lessons and you will:
- learn more in a shorter amount of time
- get a fully customised course
- learn in the style that suits you best
- study at a speed that works for you
- keep motivated and inspired to continue
- get an in-depth understanding of the language
- reach your goals faster!
You can also sign up with a friend and split the cost of your classes. The only requirement for this is that they have the same goal and level as you do.
Which course package should I select?
If you would like regular classes, select the Small Package.
If you want your class time to count for immigration purposes, select the Small Package Plus. Lingu is an officially certified provider of Norwegian language courses for adult immigrants. With the Small Package Plus, you will receive a certificate at the end of your course that shows the total number of hours you have attended. You can then submit this as part of your permanent residence permit application.
How to register and what's next?
New student
Select an Assessment lesson first. Your assigned teacher will find out what your goals are, assess your language level and create a customised course plan just for you. You can also get advice on which course package you should order.
A teacher will contact you to schedule an assessment lesson within 5 working days.
Existing student
If you are an existing student and just want to continue your course, simply select your preferred package. Your teacher will then be notified and will contact you to schedule your next class.
If you sign up with a friend or colleague that has the same goal and level as you, you can share the cost of the classes and learn together for the price of one!
Please note that each lesson lasts 45 minutes, and all class preparation time is included in the cost of the course. Each class is made up of 2 lessons, or a total of 90 minutes. An assessment lesson lasts 45 minutes.
Our private lessons can take place in our centres, online, or at your preferred location. Simply let us know your preference when scheduling your lesson, and we'll take care of the rest. Please note that for lessons conducted at your office or other chosen location, there will be an additional charge to cover the travel costs of our teacher.

A private language course starts with a first lesson. In this lesson, the teacher will check what you need and make a plan for your course.
After the first lesson, you will decide with the teacher when and how often you want to have classes. You will also decide the best plan to reach your goal. This will be based on how you like to learn and what you need.
